Cowboy-Con Poster Design Call to Artists

cc-logo-w-banner-copySierra Arts Foundation (SAF) is now accepting submissions for the Cowboy-Con Convention and Expo 2018 poster concepts. Local and regional 2-d format artists are encouraged to apply. There will be 4 designs chosen, 1 commemorative poster that will capture the Cowboy-Con experience, 1 promotional poster featuring the Cowboy-Con logo, and 2 general posters with a western, wild west theme. The chosen artwork will be showcased throughout the months leading up to and during the July 19-29, 2018 event. A panel of judges including SAF board members, advocates and artists will review submissions and select works that best embody the look and feel of the Cowboy-Con festival. The selected poster artworks and concepts become the exclusive property of SAF and will be used for promotional purposes. Awards are $4,000 each with possible opportunities for appearance and signings during the event.

Submissions are limited to no more than two different concepts per artist. Designs may be designed specifically for the event or come from an existing portfolio. Please only create the art, as SAF will contract with a designer to aid in creating the poster from your piece. Each concept submitted does not need to be fully completed work but should effectively illustrate the vision of the final piece. Deadline is Thurs., Dec. 28, 5 p.m. Selected artists will be notified on or before Fri., Jan. 8. Final imagery must be completed and delivered to SAF by Wed., Jan. 27, 5 p.m.

Entry Information:

1. Artist bio with contact email and Phone number, as well as information on the medium(s) used to create the piece.

2. No more than two different concepts.

3. Statement to support and describe each concept however, this is statement is not presented during the juried process.
