DESCRIPTION:Arts Engagement Camp for Kids in Carson City \nCreative Play Through Art & Movement\nFive fun-filled days of creative play through art making and creative movement.  With teaching-artist Miss Sofia\, the young artists will be introduced to a wide range of unique and engaging art activities such as mask making\, musical instrument making\, and much more.  And with teaching-artist Miss Melody\, the participants will explore the joy of creative expression through music and dance. \nArt Camp hosted by Sierra Arts • $100 camp fee • Registration through Carson City Arts & Culture \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THE ART CAMP \nCamp Artistic Leaders \nMiss Sofia is a local artist and UNR graduate with a degree in Art History. Sofia’s interest in art was fostered with the help and instruction of her grade school teacher\, Mrs. Loftin. In additions to working for Sierra Arts as a resident teaching-artist in elementary classrooms\, Sofia spends her time making art\, hiking outdoors and enjoying the beauty of the Tahoe-Basin. \nMiss Melody is a local dancer and instructor. A recent UNR graduate with degrees in Dance and Psychology. Melody has always had a strong connection to the world of dance and life long dedication to spread the joy and the health benefits of dance with others.  Trained in the art of classical forms such as ballet\, jazz\, modern\, tap\, and improvisation techniques\, Melody loves teaching dance and creative movement to people of all ages.
