DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Dates – September 4th thru 26th\nReception Date – Saturday\, September 25th\, 3 to 5 pm\n\n“Adaption” will present a series of of oil paintings depicting California native animal species.  The series poses various scenes\, both real and imagined\, exploring how these species adapt to urban/city environments. \n\nLaurel Picklum grew up in California raised by a pair of nature-loving scientists. Thus far\, her life has been filled with creativity through drawing\, painting\, and music\, as well as an ever-growing appreciation for biology and the natural world. In 2013 she received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from San Jose State University\, and in 2016 completed the Natural Science Illustration program at the University of Washington in Seattle.\nLearn more about Laurel and her artwork on her website: LaurelPicklum.com
