SUMMARY:Sharon Weir Artist Reception • February 15th
DESCRIPTION:Glorious by Sharon Weir\nExhibition Dates: January 30-February 26\, 2025\n\nReception Date: Saturday\, February 15th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm\n\nIn my collection\, Glorious\, each piece serves as a manifestation of the dreamer search for\ncompleteness and self-unity. These mandalas invite viewers to pause and reflect\, encouraging an\nexamination of how the artwork transforms their inner landscape.\nIn a world often filled with tumult and distraction\, these pieces offer a sacred space for\nconnection. As you engage with each mandala\, I hope you find a moment of tranquility and\ninsight\, allowing the art to guide you on your personal journey toward harmony and wholeness.\nEmbrace the stillness within the chaos\, and may each mandala resonate with your unique path.\n\nSharon Weir is a lifelong creative whose artistic journey has evolved through multiple\nmediums. Currently\, she is captivated by the fusion of assemblage art and the ancient\npractice of mandala making. Each time Sharon approaches a blank canvas\, she\nembraces the unknown\, allowing her pieces to come to life through intuition and\nemotion.\nWith years of experience teaching high school\, Sharon finds that her connection to\ncreativity has been vital in maintaining her balance and sanity. A pivotal moment in her\nartistic development came from a single assemblage class with the late Richard Allen\nWells\, who inspired her to transition from two-dimensional to three-dimensional work.\nThis transformative experience ignited her current obsession with mandalas and the\nstudy of sacred geometry\, drawing from ancient interpretations to uncover hidden\nwisdom.\nOriginally from Bakersfield\, CA\, she moved to Reno\, NV in 1968 where she attended Hug\nHigh School. Sharon’s life journey has taken her across the United States\, enriching her\nexperiences and perspectives. She holds a master’s degree in teaching and finds joy in\nworking with teenagers\, fostering their creativity.\nWhen she’s not inspiring the next generation in the classroom\, Sharon enjoys creating\nart\, playing with her poodles\, or spending cherished moments with her grandchildren.\nShe is grateful for the unwavering support of her wife\, who encourages her in all her\nartistic and personal endeavors.\n\nGallery Hours:  Tuesday – Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm to 4:00pm\n\nFor information about the exhibit and the artist\, please contact the gallery curator\, Maria Partridge • maria@sierra-arts.org
