DESCRIPTION:What We Find in the Mountains\n“What We Find in the Mountains” is a captivating collection of paintings by artist Blair Latos that invites viewers on a journey through the rugged beauty of the Sierra Nevada range. Blair’s energetic\, intricate\, and distinctly textured works blend expressionistic and impressionistic styles\, capturing the lessons\, idiosyncrasies\, and meaningful experiences that emerge from mountain adventures. Each painting serves as a window into the raw\, eccentric\, and playful world of outdoor exploration\, inspiring audiences to step outside and discover the profound personal growth that can be found in hiking\, climbing\, skiing\, biking\, and other high-country pursuits. Blair’s passion for the mountains shines through in this one-of-a-kind exhibit\, which aims to touch the hearts of all who share a deep love for time spent among the peaks and valleys of the Sierra Nevada. \nBlair Latos is a fine artist whose work combines bright color\, strong texture\, and kinetic brushstrokes\, often described as realism on the brink of fantasy. \nBlair’s artistic journey began after graduating from the University of Nevada\, Reno’s nursing school in 2019. Resolving to pursue her passion for creating\, she started painting daily between nursing shifts and selling her artwork throughout Reno. \nToday a full-time painter\, Blair exhibits her work in galleries across the Sierra\, holds booths at fairs and festivals\, paints murals\, teaches classes\, and provides displays for local businesses in the Great Basin region. She has created notable commissions for HOKA\, Noborou Climbing\, the Reno Aces\, and international collectors. \nWhen not creating\, Blair spends her free time rock climbing\, running\, and camping in the mountains from Tahoe to Lone Pine\, constantly drawing inspiration for her art. Through her work\, Blair aims to inspire intrigue and desire for movement\, exploration\, and novel experiences\, ultimately encouraging greater joy and play in our daily lives. \nExhibition Dates: August 3-24\, 2024 \nReception Date: Saturday\, August 17th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm \nDepot Gallery Hours:  Thursday 10:00am-2:00pm\, Friday – Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm
