Applications lacking required documents or support materials will not be accepted.

Any individual artist residing within a 200 mile radius of the Sierra Arts Foundation and a current Sierra Arts Foundation member.

• Previous recipients of Grants to Artists for a period of three (3) years regardless of change in artistic discipline or classification categories.
• Artists presented with the prestigious Rosemary MacMillian Award for Lifetime Excellence.

Artist Resume

Resume must showcase evidence of artistic merit and experience in exhibition programs.  This information may be categorized under the publications, lectures, presentations, artist talks, exhibitions, catalogs, etc.  In addition, list all any relevant teaching experience, artist residences, and workshops.  Include dates, places, and discipline.  (PDF Format)

• Literary artists must provide a publications list including titles and dates of publications.
• Performing artists must include an exhibition/performance list showcasing professional performances, dates, and locations.
• Visual artists must include a professional exhibition list showcasing exhibition titles, dates, and locations.
• Curators must include exhibition list showcasing exhibition titles, dates, and locations.

Artist Biography

A summarized, narrative version of the resume, but shorter and with more personality.  Bios may be used in a professional artist package, as a part of a catalogue at an exhibition, in publicity and printed programs.  (PDF Format)

Artist Statement

A short narrative that explains the artist’s intentions of their body of work, materials used, and process.  The statement must also include the goals and strategies in which the artist plans to further develop and expand an existing or new body of work.  (PDF Format)

ID/Drivers License

Photocopy of a Nevada Identification Card, Nevada Drivers License, California Identification Card, or California Drivers License.  (PDF or JPG Format)

Literary Arts Grants – 3 grants worth $1000 each

Classifications: prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, playwriting, and screenplays.

Five (5) Literary Work Samples

Original work typed in 12-point Arial or Helvetica font, double spaced and uploaded as a PDF format.

Works Sample File Labels (Your Last name and First name)

Cover Letter (PDF) – must include the following for all five literary samples:

• Artist’s Name

Performing Arts Grant – $1000

Classifications: dancer, musician, comedian, theater artist, and performance poetry. Three (3) Audio or Video Performance Samples

Each sample document should range between 2 and 5 minutes in duration.  Provide a five second buffer between segments.  Preference is a YouTube™ or Vimeo™ video link.

Cover Letter (PDF) – must include the following for all three performance samples:

• Artist’s Name
• Performance Classification
• Title
• Time of Media

Visual Arts Grant – $1000

Classifications: Photography, 2D, and 3D

Four (4) Visual Work Samples

72 dpi image resolution and confine dimensions to 1000 pixels in any direction as a JPG format.  The combination of the five samples are not to exceed 10MB.

Art Student Grant – $500

Art Students attending their senior year of high school or art students enrolled as an undergraduate are encouraged to apply for a Sierra Arts Foundation $500 Student Grant.
