Description:

The Youth Art Fundamental Series is designed for young artists between the ages of 7 and 12 who are eager to further develop their artistic skills.  The series focuses on the fundamentals of design and art making.

Each class is dedicated to a specific art element, design principle, art medium, and technical application.

Saturday, March 25 •  Graphite Pencils, Value & Shading

Shading is a technique and process of adding value to create an illusion of depth in a drawing. In this class, students will be introduced to the different grades of graphite drawing pencils, value ranges, and shading techniques.

The instructor Tia Flores is a Nevada native, arts educator, and internationally recognized artist specializing in pyrography. As a teaching artist with over 25 years experience, Tia has worked with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. As an arts educator, she taught art for ten years for elementary and high school students which included digital design, graphic art, and AP Studio Art.  For more information click here: Artist Bio
Materials Fee: All materials will be supplied by the instructor.  There is a $5 materials fee due at the beginning of the workshop.  Other materials may be purchased from the instructor.
