As a native Nevadan, raised in an artistic family, Penny was instilled with a deep love for the natural world, and art. She started her education at The California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA at an early age, but soon realized that she couldn’t make a living with a career in art. So, she embarked on another love of hers, science and medicine. She became an Associate Professor of Medicine at UNR, and enjoyed 30+ years in the healing profession as a Pediatrician in Nevada. She returned to art exploration and adventures when she retired from her medical career and has been honing her artistic talents vigorously ever since. She feels a deep sense of connection to Nature, and experiences Nature as both her teacher and her muse, which ignites her creative spirit. The quest for knowledge, and learning is the mainstay of all of her pursuits. She enjoys the companionship and enthusiasm generated by teaching and sharing her knowledge with others.
