Sogand is an immigrant Iranian visual artist whose work explores intersections between culture, gender, and politics, offering a glimpse into the complex tapestry of identity. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in Iran, Sogand’s art weaves personal experiences into a broader human experience, creating thought-provoking visual narratives. Sogand’s primarily medium is collage, incorporating her drawings and textile designs; her multi-disciplinary approach allows her to fluidly experiment with different materials, textures, and techniques, resulting in a diverse body of work that pushes the boundaries of artistic expression. Her work seeks to evoke emotional connections and spark conversations. Sogan received her BA in Painting from the Art University of Tehran and then moved to the United States to pursue her Master of Fine Arts at UNR. She is currently working as an art educator and advisor, residing in Reno, Nevada.
