Family Art Saturdays May 10 • Impressionism Monet

May 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Monet

Arts Engagement Program in partnership with Carson City Arts & Culture

Family Art Saturdays • May 10th (10:00am-12:00pm)

Art Activity Topic:  Impressionism & Monet

Impressionism was developed in France in the nineteenth century and is based on the practice of painting out of doors and spontaneously ‘on the spot’ rather than in a studio from sketches. Main impressionist subjects were landscapes and scenes of everyday life.

Claude Monet was a French painter and a leader of the Impressionist movement, which transformed 19th century French painting. His work is considered a foundation for modern and contemporary art. Monet’s paintings are known for capturing the changing light and passing seasons in the same scene.

Children of all ages and their families are invited to explore a variety of hands-on visual art projects that engage and educate. Second and Fourth Saturday of each month 10am-noon.  All ages welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Registration through Carson City Arts & Culture • $10 or $8/each for groups of 3 or more that register together. Kids 5 and under free.
