“I hope to give space for local artists to express what American Beauty means to them, exploring themes of gender and body politics. Each artist will contribute works of art that to them adds to the discourse on negative effects of the beauty and cosmetics industries, misrepresentation within social media, and political statutes that affect an individual’s rights to make choices about their own bodies.”
