April 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Van Gogh

Arts Engagement Program in partnership with Carson City Arts & Culture

Family Art Saturdays • April 12th (10:00am-12:00pm)

Art Activity Topic:  Post Impressionism & Van Gogh

Post Impressionism was a predominantly French art movement that developed roughly between 1886 and 1905, from the last Impressionist exhibition to the birth of Fauvism. Post-Impressionism emerged as a reaction against Impressionists’ concern for the naturalistic depiction of light and colour.

Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who created a revolutionary style using vivid colors, exaggerated forms, and loose brushwork. In just over a decade, he produced around 2,100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings, mostly in his final two years.

Children of all ages and their families are invited to explore a variety of hands-on visual art projects that engage and educate. Second and Fourth Saturday of each month 10am-noon.  All ages welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Registration through Carson City Arts & Culture • $10 or $8/each for groups of 3 or more that register together. Kids 5 and under free.
