Family Art Saturdays • March 22nd (10:00am-12:00pm)
Art Activity Topic: Surrealism & Dali
Surrealism is an art and cultural movement that developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I in which artists aimed to allow the unconscious mind to express itself, often resulting in the depiction of illogical or dreamlike scenes and ideas.
Salvador Dali was a Spanish painter, printmaker, and surrealist artist known for his technical skill, bizarre imagery, and exploration of subconscious themes. His work, which included paintings, sculptures, film, and interactive art, influenced a new generation of imaginative expression.
Children of all ages and their families are invited to explore a variety of hands-on visual art projects that engage and educate. Second and Fourth Saturday of each month 10am-noon. All ages welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Registration through Carson City Arts & Culture • $10 or $8/each for groups of 3 or more that register together. Kids 5 and under free.
