Artist Statement:
During my early years, writing quickly became an outlet for me, for the wonderful, the dreadful, and the disconcerting chapters in my story. It was as if when I picked up a pen and placed it to the paper, my deepest emotions flowed out in their purest form even when I could not express them in any other way. As I wrote, my thoughts, emotions, and experiences went from a jumbled and tangled mess, to taking the shape of tangible pieces, with a deeper meaning assigned to each of them. My journaling developed into freestyle poetry with ease and the truest expressions of my heart were manifested in ways that I could not explain. Conclusively, my coping mechanism became an art form and an immense passion. My aim as a literary artist is to share my gift, but most importantly my pain, joy, bondage, and freedom with my readers to inspire hope and show them they are not alone.
