In the music industry it is often remarked that artists spend their whole lives writing their first album. In this same vein, this exhibit proposal very much feels like my first album; at age 40 has been a long time coming. I am finally at a place with my expression that my pieces have a through line – a consistent feel – that strengthens the feeling that I have something to say. My hope is that by displaying my smaller pieces in a large number and condensed that they show my passion and drive to explore the idea of Auto Abstraction – as if I’m desperate to give form to the images swirling in my mind, like trying to record a dream quickly before it fades.
The larger, core collection is a distillation of these smaller studies – flagship pieces that show my current work in its purest form and at a larger scale to show it boldly.
A collection of approximately 30 fine art pieces created over the last two years. The pieces all fall under the Auto Abstraction theme, including but not limited to these sizes: 5×9”, 9×12”, 12×18”, 15×20”, and several planned larger pieces currently being produced and described below.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm to 4:00pm
