The Youth Art Fundamental Series is designed for young artists between the ages of 7 and 12 who are eager to further develop their artistic skills. The series focuses on the fundamentals of design and art making.
Each class is dedicated to a specific art element, design principle, art medium, and technical application.
Saturday, July 8 • Art & Science of Color
Explore and investigate the relationship between colors by combining primary colors and manipulating variables. Artists approach a creative idea much like a scientist. Each creative process if filled with curiosity, wonderment, and experimentation. Artists typically begin the creative process with a question “I wonder what would happen if?”
In this Youth Art Series, participants will be creative investigators in learning about the science of color. We will discuss Sir Isaac Newton and color theory, RGB, and CMYK. Participants will create a color wheel.
In 1987 Sierra Arts Foundation began awarding grants to artists of all disciplines living within a 100-mile radius.
