Description:

In this introductory pyrography workshop, participants will be introduced the wonderful art of wood burning. We will discuss the various types of wood burning tools, pen nibs, and basic wood burning techniques. Participants will have time to practice and apply the different burning techniques to create a simple composition.

Instructor Tia Flores is a Nevada native, arts educator, and internationally recognized artist specializing in pyrography. Her culturally themed pyrographic sculptures have been featured on HGTV’s That’s Clever!, Voices of America, PBS ArtEffects, Pyrography Magazine and Women Artist of the Great Basin by Mary Lee Fulkerson. Materials Fee: All materials will be supplied by the instructor. There is a $10 materials fee due at the beginning of the workshop. Other materials may be purchased from the instructor.
