“Art is a normal and necessary behavior of human beings” Dissanayake For as far back as I can remember I have been a mark maker, a mud pie builder, a storyteller, a dancer, and an explorer. These behaviors have evolved over the years and some of this evolution can been seen in the images and objects I make with my hands. I have the proclivity to explore a subject in series and different media. In this way I might gain a better understanding of the subject, of myself and of humanity. Sharing my handiwork is another form of the creative process for me. The effect my images and objects have on others helps me learn more about who I am and how I fit into the human family. Through this I am inspired to do more mark making, mud pie building, tell more stories, and dance for joy. My art is a sharing of the process and growth as a member of our human family. I hope as you experience my images and objects that you too will be inspired to engage in this normal and necessary behavior of art making.
