Moving Forward an Exhibition by Truckee Meadows Community College Students

May 2, 2021 - May 28, 2021

Exhibition: May 2 thru 28

Reception: Thursday May 20, 4-7 PM

Moving Forward is a student exhibition from Truckee Meadows Community College. The works form a perspective on last year’s events and the take away. No one was spared in the chaos that reached every corner of the world. The words “Zoom,” “quarantine,” and “social distance” became a part of everyday vocabulary while the days dragged on, marked by the number of deaths.

“Compositions of neutral colors set a mood when infused with cool blues, violets, and reds emerging throughout the canvases, reflecting a sense of isolation in the lone figures and varying abstract forms while emulating a process of personal growth.” Said contributing artist Taryn Trapani.

Both individual and personal, these works share a common theme. The idea of Moving Forward is a response to place and time, a look at what’s to come, and aims to generate steps in that direction.

Social distancing, limited occupancy, and wearing face masks will be strictly enforced.
