Topography & Tool Marks: Linocuts of the Sierra Nevada an Exhibition by Katherine Case

May 1, 2021 - May 29, 2021

Exhibition: May 1 thru May 29

Reception: Thursday May 20, 6-8 PM

Katherine Case uses the centuries-old traditional methods of wood and linoleum-cut printmaking to celebrate the abundance and diversity of the Sierra Nevada and the Great Basin. Some images are carefully hand-painted while others are multi-block editions. All are printed from hand-carved linoleum blocks. Meridian Press donates 25% of its profits to the Wilderness Land Trust, a donation which is earmarked specifically for our region of the Sierra Nevada and the Great Basin. The Wilderness Land Trust purchases private land and turns it into public wilderness land. Through Meridian Press, Katherine creates a positive feedback loop in which she spends time in the unique wilderness areas of Reno-Tahoe, creates limited-edition prints about these special places, and gives back the proceeds to help preserve them through time.
