Jonathan Farber uses Sharpie markers to create drawings that are rooted in a specific mark making style that can be described as patterns of redundant and haphazard scrawls. Farber’s concept of mark making is an intellectual amusement of infinity, as well as a meditation of time, space and thought. As an intuitive artist, “I Have a Hunch” best describes how I approach my art.  I am constantly striving for a lack of resistance in my work while keeping planning and preconceived thoughts to a minimum.  I approach creating in a spontaneous manner and allow my inner voice to make decisions on color, medium, titles, and marks on the surface.  This results in unfiltered pieces, which are honest reflections of my true self. In my paintings, I like to paint in the first minute with my eyes closed. I do this to capture the unknown. Through the different forms and marks, I create a composition that leads my imagination to tell a story. Ray 'bacasegua' Valdez is an artist, muralist and Tribal member of the Texas Band of Yaqui Indians. His paintings depict how Native American life can be lived in and of traditional ways while still existing in these current times. He utilizes various mediums to create the emotions uprooted from the old ways. His work has been shown extensively in Nevada and Texas with collectors from around the country.
