In this 3-hour Workshop, you will learn the basic process of rag paper making. Learning the ancient art of paper inspires creativity! You will pull sheets and pour sheets, and you will walk away with your own handmade paper and an infectious Drive to learn more!
Western rag paper making is a artform which has been around for centuries. It is the process of taking cotton or linen cloth and reducing it down to cellulose. During the workshop the process will be demonstrated and participants will use the pulp to create sheets of paper. The sheets of paper will be 51/2" x square, and 8 1/2" x 11". In this foundational class participants will learn the basics a paper making. From this experience, participants will be able to take other classes that build upon these skills.
