Ashley Genevieve Gottlieb is a visual artist based in Reno, Nevada. Gottlieb creates bright and playful abstract work through painting, and dabbles in sculpture and printmaking. Inspired by traveling and exploring landscapes, Gottlieb utilizes bold colors and abstract shapes to share her intuitive connection to nature. Gottlieb loves to “go big” and fantasizes about creating murals and sculptures in unexpected places. Her vibrant work transports the viewer from the daily mundane to a fantastical place, if only for a moment, and asks them to reflect upon their own relationship with the world’s wild places. She aims to provide viewers with uplifting and contemplative experiences that strengthen their connection with nature in hopes that they will become better stewards of it. Gottlieb’s work has been shown in exhibitions at Sierra Arts Foundation, Artemisia Studios, Nevada Fine Arts, Truckee Meadows Community College, the University of Nevada, Reno McNamara Gallery, Coffeebar Midtown, and the Northwest Reno Library Art Gallery. Gottlieb received her B.A. in Communications from Knox College (2005) and her A.A. in Fine Arts from Truckee Meadows Community College (2022). She has worked in event planning and marketing at such institutions as the University of Chicago, Lincoln Park Zoo, Brookfield Zoo, and Six Flags Great America. In addition to making art, she currently works as the Arts & Culture Program Assistant for the City of Reno.
