I'm a self-taught artist who has gone from working in the corporate world to working for myself; it's a job that I love! Much of my art is centered around the Mexican holiday Dia De Los Muertos, sacred hearts, Frida Kahlo, and strong, powerful female imagery. My favorite subject matter to paint is portraits and while I don't think I've perfected it, I like to keep trying. While I adore painting on canvas the most, I really enjoy creating functional art; art that's useful and filled with color! With painting and creating being my way of life, it has allowed many fabulous opportunities and to meet some pretty spectacular people. It makes what I do so worth while and fulfilling! I am Cathy Ashworth, a southern California native, painter, stuff maker, herbivore and animal lover, living (in northern Nevada, since June 2016) and working in both the Los Angeles area & northern Nevada area, doing what I love to do!
