Mark best expresses his love of the natural & cultural landscapes of The West through outdoor photography and writing. His images and illustrated feature articles have been widely published in regional magazines, books, calendars and brochures. As a roster artist for the Nevada Arts Council, he’s received numerous grants for his StorySongs collaboration with singer/songwriter Jim Eaglesmith. Their live programs of photography, music and earth science “edutain” audiences in schools, libraries and museums throughout northern Nevada. A recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from Truckee Meadows Community College, Mark has enjoyed sharing his love and passion for photography with workshop students since 2006. He also photographs fragile habitats and pristine Nevada landscapes for local non-profit groups. His photographs have hung in galleries in Reno, Sparks, Sacramento, and South Lake Tahoe.
