For over ten years, I have created literary nonfiction that examines the intersection of physical experience, landscape, identity, mental health and memory cast onto the landscape of the American West, and in particular, the Great Basin Desert and the Sierra Nevada Range. My combined and long experience as an author and athlete has given me unique insight into the power of embodied metaphor in stories, creative works, and its vital role in our capacity to heal and become what we are meant to be.
