American Impressionist "The muted tones add to the mood. At some point I let go and the painting evolves. It is a tremendous feeling of freedom and expression." I am an American artist. Mostly self-taught; my inspiration comes from having traveled throughout the Unites States, Europe and Asia and observed the Impressionists such as Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir and Monet. I let the use of brush strokes and color evolve and capture the vision and mood of the painting. The subject matter ranges from seascapes landscapes, portraits and still-life. My palette is diffused cool grey and green, soft blue and pink, burnt umber and sunny gold slightly tinged with violet or crimson depending on the time of day; sunrise to sunset; sunny or cloudy.
