Celebrate the release of Urban Trails: Reno––a guide that showcases the beauty and variety of Northern Nevada’s high desert through 42 hiking trails in and around Reno. This book is the area’s newest and most complete guide, detailing trails, histories, local lore, geology, and flora and fauna in Reno, Sparks, North Valleys, Washoe Valley, and Spanish Springs.
Urban Trails: Reno is for the person who just moved to Reno just as much as it is for the long-time local stuck in a rut. The trails described in this book aim to provide an experience for everyone, whether you hike with young kids, or hate the idea of hiking, or just got home from a two-week backpacking trip. Hiking in the high desert lends itself to possibility, its wide open landscapes begging an expedition. This guide is intended to spark the area’s possibilities, an introduction that leaves room for personal discovery.
