Join professional writers Terry Farley, Jenny MacKay, Jacci Turner and Suzanne Morgan Williams for a FREE question & answer session… all about writing books for children and young adults (ages 0-18).

These published authors will do their best to answer your questions and share insider tips and clues as you tackle the publishing maze.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

Following the presentation, hang out with the authors during a short reading, book sale and signing.

Terri Farley has always loved horses, especially wild ones. She left Los Angeles for the
cowgirl state of Nevada after earning degrees in English and Journalism. Now she rides
the range researching books and magazine articles about the contemporary and historic
West. Her award-winning books include Seven Tears into the Sea (Celtic fantasy) and
Wild At Heart: Mustangs and the Young People Fighting to Save Them  (non-fiction)
and the best-selling Phantom Stallion series which have taken over 2 million readers
from around the world on adventures in today's American West.
Terri taught English in downtown Los Angeles before she moved to Nevada and taught
English and Journalism at Traner Middle School and Wooster High School. To answer
her longing for the classroom, she does school visits across the U.S.

Jenny MacKay has an MFA in creative writing and over 20 years of experience as a writer and editor for publishers including Cengage, Sage, Elsevier, Lucent Books, Human Kinetics, Reference Point Press, and the Journal of the American Medical Association. She is the author of 35 nonfiction children’s books and has taught college writing courses and many workshops on writing craft and professional development.

Jacci Turner lives with her husband in Nevada’s high desert. They spend their mornings hiking
through the sagebrush with their dog, Rosie. Jacci loves chocolate, babies, and coffee with friends. She’s worn many hats in her life: therapist, school counselor, campus minister, and mom. Her favorite hats are her writer and grandmother hats, which come in wild colors and don’t fit too tightly. Jacci is the author of twelve books for middle grade and young adults and three for adults.

Suzanne Morgan Williams is the author of more than a dozen fiction and nonfiction books for
people ten and up, including her new upper MG/YA novel, SIERRA BLUE, and the young adult
novel, BULL RIDER which won a Western Heritage Award from the National Cowboy and
Western Heritage Museum. Her articles have appeared in Society of Children’s Book Writers
and Illustrators, SCBWI Bulletin and The Essential Guide to Publishing for Children, as well as
in The Children’s Writers’ and Illustrators’ Market, and Nevada Humanities’ Heart to Heart.
Suzanne is a Nevada Arts Council teaching artist and Regional Advisor Emerita of the Society
of Children’s Writers and Illustrators, Nevada Region.
She loves textured settings, unexpected characters, and detailed research. Her writing,
research, and speaking have taken her across the U.S. She lives in Reno, Nevada, and the
modern West is the setting for many of her books.
