Nicko Torres Artist Reception • December 15th
Lacking in Depth, But I'm Trying my Best by Nicko Torres In all honesty, this gallery initially served to justify my disdain towards the modern art sphere and its superficial importance of a piece's meaning other than the work itself. While that scorn remains intact, that is not the sole reason for my resentment. Though the purpose of what I've completed so far was meant to exist without meaning, every one of them speaks to me in some way. Whether…

Ana Perez-McKay Artist Reception • February 13th
Uncharted by Ana Perez-McKay The body of work that is Uncharted uses multiples and combinations of discarded and sentimentally valuable materials, especially reused textile and fiber, to introduce conflicting notions of memory, truth, and meaning. A fiber series is displayed parallel to a paper series, where sister iterations of the same object relate and reflect. The “double” objects are different and the same, ambiguous in sequence (is paper a mockup for quilt? Does quilt inspire documentation on paper?) and use…

Glorious by Sharon Weir Exhibition Dates: January 30-February 26, 2025 Reception Date: Saturday, February 15th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm In my collection, Glorious, each piece serves as a manifestation of the dreamer search for completeness and self-unity. Auto Abstraction by Will Burrows Exhibition Dates: March 4-26, 2025 Reception Date: Thursday, March 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm In the music industry it is often remarked that artists spend their whole lives writing their first album. In this same vein, this exhibit proposal very much feels like my first album; at age 40 has been a long time coming. I am finally at a place with my expression that my pieces have a through line - a consistent feel…

Not Otherwise Specified by Sam Meehan Not Otherwise Specified is a series of abstract portraits exploring mental health. While the stigma has lessened, it is often misunderstood and difficult to explain. I think that most people have either struggled with it themselves at some point or know someone who has. This series of portraits incorporates bright colors and beautiful elements while expressing what may be considered heavy subjects. I hope it will show that it is possible to add beauty…
