Kyle and Kaitlin Young drew inspiration for this project from the Washington DC mayor after she helped to orchestrate the painting of "Black Lives Matter" across the road that leads to the White House. The Young's wondered how they could contribute towards a piece of community-driven art that condemned police brutality and racial injustice. Author, film expert, and world traveler Robin Holabird talks about Reno screen icons and other movie matters during Artown.  A former board member and president of Sierra Arts Foundation, Robin writes regularly about films and their locations, with her weekly program airing on Reno’s NPR affiliate KUNR at 88.7 FM every Friday. Photo exhibit showcases mid-century modern architecture RENO, Nevada – A photo exhibit recognizing the legacy of mid-century modern architecture in Reno is now available on Sierra Arts website. The exhibit was originally scheduled in the Annex Gallery but closures resulting from COVID-19 have prevented a live display. I collect all kinds of things not knowing their final destination: no longer useful keys, interesting old faucets, my father’s fishing lures, feathers, rotors for disk brakes, and old parts from discarded toys.
