Reno based graphic designer, printmaker and painting instructor, Haley Deiro, has been honing her skill set since childhood. She grew up in the small mountain town of Truckee, California, the quiet region matching her disposition. At a young age, Deiro felt more comfortable expressing herself visually rather than verbally. She often explored the rugged terrain of Truckee's unbridled backyard in search of inspiration and spiritual enlightenment with sketchbook in hand. Today, Deiro works as a multi-talented graphic designer and fine artist with extensive experience in both digital and traditional art. This visionary weaves graphic design, printmaking and educating into a tightly woven schedule. Deiro’s design work is diverse, ranging from logo to packaging to page layout. Much of her design work can be found in Moonshine Ink, the local monthly independent newspaper of her hometown. She is also a member of the Printmakers’ Conspiracy, a group based in Reno dedicated to creating a vibrant printmaking community. She delights in sharing her printmaking knowledge with the young artists of our community and is so very pleased to be presented with the opportunity to participate as one of the Sierra Arts Foundation’s Teaching-Artists. Her background as a painting instructor for Pinot’s Palette rounds out her expertise, resulting in a dynamic, overreaching artist. As an adult, Deiro stays true to her quiet, introverted self, allowing her work to speak for itself.
